Jellycat Bashful Bunny Review: A Grown-Up Gift?
Jellycat's best known plush, a soft medium bunny with long floppy ears that grown women collect as much as kids do. A cute, low pressure gift that still feels thought through.
Yes, for a girlfriend who keeps plush toys on the bed or already collects Jellycat. It is super soft and holds its shape for years [1]. Skip it if she sees stuffed animals as clutter.

Pros and cons
- Pricey for a plush toy
- Marketed for children [1]
- Clutter for someone who does not collect
Why grown-ups collect it
Jellycat started as a children's toy brand, and the Bashful Bunny is the plush adults now collect and post about. Its floppy ears and soft fabric look sweeter than a carnival teddy bear.
For a girlfriend, it is a cute gift with low pressure. It says you thought about her without a big statement.
It also tends to stay on the bed for years, which is more than most holiday gifts manage.
Collectors line up Bashful animals by color and size on shelves and beds, and new colors arrive often, which keeps the line easy to add to every holiday.
Size, fabric and fill
This medium bunny is about 12.2 inches long with a 9 inch sitting height [1]. The outside is soft polyester, and the fill mixes polyester fibers with small beans, which gives it a squishy body that still sits up [1].
The Bashful line comes in many colors; this one is pink with long lop ears [1].
It is sized to hug, not to take over a bed.
The fabric is the reason people pay more: it is plush and dense rather than thin, and the bunny keeps its shape after years of hugs. Spot cleaning is the safest way to keep it looking new.
Price and the toy question
It costs a lot for a stuffed animal, and the listing markets it for children's bedtime [1]. A girlfriend who does not keep plush toys will see clutter, not charm.
If she already has a Jellycat shelf, check which ones she owns; duplicates are easy to buy by mistake.
It is also not a practical gift. For a girlfriend who values useful presents, pair it with something she will wear or use daily.
Giving it the right way
It works as a sweet main gift for a new relationship or a cute add-on for someone who already collects.
From this guide, it pairs with the Unboxme Cloud Fuzzy Socks for a cozy bundle, or with the ZEEYUAN scrapbook for a soft, sentimental Christmas.
Add a tag with a silly name you picked together and it becomes an inside joke rather than just a toy.
FAQ
How big is the medium Jellycat Bashful Bunny?
The listing gives about 12.2 inches long with a 9 inch sitting height [1]. That is big enough to hug and small enough for a shelf, the size most people picture when they think of a Jellycat bunny. Several other sizes exist, from small to huge. [1]
Is Jellycat a good gift for adults?
Many adults collect Jellycat, especially the Bashful line, for its very soft fabric and sweet design. It is marketed for children, but grown women buy it for themselves too. Check that she likes plush toys before you buy. Many keep one on the bed or a desk at work. [1]
Is a stuffed animal a good Christmas gift for a girlfriend?
For a girlfriend who loves cute things, yes, especially as a first Christmas gift. A quality plush like Jellycat feels thoughtful rather than cheap. If she dislikes clutter, choose something cozy she will wear instead. Add a short note or a funny name tag to make it personal. [1]
