You open a saved gift link and the page looks familiar, but the model name is different. Perhaps the link redirects, the selected variant has changed or the shop now presents a replacement. Treat the link as a route to inspect, not proof that the item is still the original wish.

Use the written request as the reference

Compare the current title, model designation and important specifications with the note made when the wish was chosen. A similar image or the same category is not enough. Check the capacity, edition, dimensions, color and included parts where those details matter to the recipient.

If the old note contains only a link, ask the recipient to identify what they wanted before purchasing. Do not infer that every option on the current page is approved. A page can appear valid while still leaving the actual product choice unresolved; that is a decision gap to close.

Look for the point of change

  • Has the brand or full model designation changed?
  • Does the page select a different size or color by default?
  • Is the offer now for an accessory rather than the main item?
  • Does the description refer to a new edition or another package?
  • Is the seller proposing a substitute that the recipient has not approved?

You do not need to explain the website's technical reason to resolve the gift choice. The practical question is whether this offer still matches the request. If it does not, find the original item elsewhere or ask about the new option. Avoid placing an order first and seeking approval afterward.

A message that makes the difference visible

Illustrative message: “Your saved link now opens the larger version with two extra pieces. Your note says the regular version. Would you like me to look for that original, or is this package acceptable? I have not ordered yet.”

This separates observation from permission. It also gives the recipient a meaningful choice without assuming that a larger package is an improvement. If only the variant has moved, use the exact color and size check. If the product is unavailable, follow a sold-out replacement agreement.

Keep the product identity with the wish in a GiftX wishlist. Before paying, compare the basket against the confirmed request too. If several people are using the same wish as a reference, tell them directly when the intended product changes so that an older conversation does not lead to a different purchase.
